Core Beliefs:

The Intersex-Inclusive Progress Pride Flag

We are not neutral. We are not here to uphold the status quo. We are here to listen deeply, act with integrity, and build a world where care is collective and no one is disposable.

Salt & Fern, LLC is a queer-owned mental health coaching practice rooted in the belief that healing and justice are inseparable. We understand mental health not just as a personal journey, but as a collective and political one, shaped by systems of power, privilege, and oppression.

As a business, we are explicitly anti-fascist, anti-racist, and anti-oppressive. We reject systems that criminalize identity, silence dissent, and deny people access to safety, care, and autonomy. Our work is an act of resistance to those systems.

We recognize that wellness without justice is compliance, and that true mental health support must name the harm and hold space for transformation. We bring this lens into everything we do, from educational workshops in rural Washington to virtual workshops to one-on-one and family coaching conversations.

Activism, to us, looks like:

  • Making care accessible in communities that have been historically ignored or exploited.

  • Centering queer, trans, BIPOC, and disabled voices in how we design and deliver our work.

  • Creating space for discomfort, growth, and liberation, not just coping.

  • Engaging in tough conversations and doing the work to be better and stay informed, and advocating for other providers to do the same.

  • Celebrating progress and holding space for the joy and rest of marginalized peoples.

  • Offering sliding-scale and no-cost services to folks who would not otherwise be able to access them.
